Located on the famous Khao Rang Hill, Wat Khao Rang is a small but very important Buddhist temple in Phuket. It houses a huge statue of Golden Buddha which is the largest in Phuket after Big Buddha statue. The Wat Khao Rang was established by Luang Pu Supha who is a famous monk in Thailand and considered as the oldest man in the world. The temple shops also sell amulets with his photo. Now, he used to live at Wat Luang Pu Supha, a temple which is named after him. This temple is also located in Phuket. It is one of the attractions which you cannot miss in Phuket.
Things to See at Wat Khao Rang
At the entrance of Wat Khao rang, visitors will find a huge statue of Yaksha guard holding a weapon. These type of statues are usually placed in the Buddhist temples to stop bad spirits. Khao Rang is divided into two parts: Wihan and Kuti. On the right side is Wihan which is a hall used for ceremony and open for public. On the left side is Kuti where the statue of Buddha is situated and it is the place where monks live. Here, visitors will find countless paintings, murals and many other statues which are the great examples of Thai art. The temple does not receive many tourists and offers a peaceful atmosphere.

Wat Khao Rang is located on the Khao rang Hill in Phuket. It opens daily from 8 am until dusk and admission to the temple is free. There is a strict dress code for the visitors.
