Why Visit Wat Khao Hua Jook?

Wat Khao Hua Jook presents a perfect view of Big Buddha and the neighboring islands – Koh Phangan, Koh Fan, Koh Lum Noi, Koh Tao Poon and Koh Tao etc plus a rare view of Samui airport from a vantage point. Since Samui airport’s strip is clearly visible from here one can observe rising and landing airplanes against the backdrop of larger than life view. Hence, though Wat Khao Hua Jook is not considered a tourist destination and is not on any of the tours, a visit is a must especially for the panoramic 360 degree view and for the unique cultural aspect it presents.

Wat Khao Hua Jook Highlights

Wat Khao Hua Jook’s golden spire which faces the Chaweng beach is its main highlight and the sculptures that dot its stairways are also a good deal, but calmness and quite are certainly what makes it surreal. Though it doesn’t house any Buddha relics, these things make it a win-win situation for the Visitor!! Wat Khao Hua Jook is a “Temple” which houses a replica of Buddha’s footprint. It is a calm place fit for meditation where locals and visitors alike come to witness the splendid sunrises/sunsets and to bask in its healing aura. The only coffee shop is certainly a highlight but is more popular because it is known to serve one of the best coffees in Ko Samui and Chaweng.

How to Reach?

This temple is not covered by any available tours therefore one has to reach the place on their own through conveyance though it is worth a drive for a few surprises await on one’s way.
