Highlights of Wat Buppharam

The small viharn, the room where prayers are performed, was also built in Lan Na Style during the 16th century. But the structure which we see today is not the original one as it was completely reconstructed in 1819. It houses a statue of Buddha which is more than three hundred years old. The larger viharn was built a couple of centuries ago and it has magnificent interiors consisting beautiful murals of Buddha’s life. The main building of the temple consists of two floors but it does not match with the traditional Lanna style. The ground floor houses a library which has many sacred scriptures and old books based on Buddhism. A large statue of Buddha can be found on the upper floor.
