The Big Buddha Hill

Posted on: 26th February 2016

The Big Buddha Hill is a complex of religious monuments and the statue of Buddha is the most popular one. In this statue, Buddha is sitting in a lotus with a smile on face and it is located on the top of the hill. A decorated staircase of 120 steps leads to the statue. With a small donation, a monk will read a prayer for you and a souvenir shop is also located at the top. A park is spread over the most of the hill with numerous jogging paths, shops, gym and a gazebo. Here, you will also find locals selling small birds. People buy these birds and release them which is considered as a good omen. From the top, you can also admire the stunning views of the city and bay.
