Discover a Hidden Treasure Around Khao Lak

Thai Muang Beach lies roughly 25 km from both Khao Lak and Phuket, just a short distance north of Natai Beach. Home to a national park, a sea turtle sanctuary, a golf course and a couple of small villages, it ranks among the most natural and serene beaches of southern Thailand. It is also one of the most attractive, with its white powdery sand stretching well out into the clear, warm sea. Like many other lesser-known tourist attractions, Thai Muang Beach is a hidden treasure and an ideal destination for those in search of solitude. Stretching for about 30 km, it is quite an expansive area spreading mostly arrow-straight in shape. So finding a good patch that you can occupy for yourself won’t be much of a challenge. Thai Muang Beach is easily accessible with a road running along it a few meters inland.

Attractions to Visit at Thai Muang Beach

There are plenty of attractions you can enjoy visiting at the Thai Muang Beach and also in areas close to it. The most popular of them all is located on the beach road at Phang Nga Coastal Fisheries Research and Development Center. This is a turtle sanctuary whose main attraction are the big concrete tanks that are home to the endangered Olive Ridley and green sea turtles. Also worthy of a visit is the vast Khao Lampiā€“Hat Thai Muang National Park, occupying most of the beach’s northern end. Spanning a total area of about 72,000 sq km, the park offers striking natural beauty as well as huge waterfalls including Ton Prai and the multi-tiered Lampi waterfalls. In addition, it also boasts some amazing ATV routes, nature trails and a tin-mining machinery of the past. As you head down further south of Thai Muang Beach, you’ll also find the Thai Muang Beach Golf Course and the Bo Dan hot springs.
