Situated on the top of Khao Thaphet mountain, about 210 meters above the sea level, Phra That Sri Surat is an impressive Buddhist temple in Surat Thani. It is located in the Khao Tapet Nature & Wildlife center and it is also known as Phra That Khao Tapet. Phra That Sri Surat was built in 1957 in Srivichai style and it contains the sacred relics of Buddha which were donated by the Government of India. Being situated on a hill, it offers breathtaking views of the Tapi River and the town of Surat Thani. The design of the temple is completely different from the other Buddhist temples in Thailand: it is white in color with golden trims. It is very beautiful temple and a must visit place in Surat Thani.
