Spread over 600 acres of land, Nong Nooch Tropical Botanical Garden is a paradise with the most important species of flora from all over the world. It is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Thailand and a winner of many international awards for its design and beauty in exposing vegetation species. In 1954, Mr. Pisit and Mrs Nongnooch bought this piece of land to grow vegetables and fruits. But later, they decided to transform it into a tropical botanical garden. In 80’s, this botanical was opened to international tourists. Now every day, more than 2000 visitors enjoy walking here while admiring hundreds of flowers, plants and beautiful fountains.

What to See and Do in Nong Nooch Tropical Botanical Garden

The Nong Nooch Tropical Botanical Garden is dedicated to the research of tropical flora and fauna. It has over 15,000 species of flowers and plants from all the corners of the globe. It is divided into the different theme area. The most popular areas include French Garden, Japanese Garden, Cactus Garden, Stonehenge garden and the Garden of Cycas. The area of orchids is also one of the most visited in this botanical park. Besides the stunning flora and fauna, visitors can also enjoy some other activities such as martial arts demonstrations, traditional ceremonies, Thai massage, elephant ride and a boat ride. It is one of the must-visit attractions in Pattaya.

Useful Information

The Nong Nooch Tropical Botanical Garden is located at Sukhumvit Road (Highway 3) and it is only about 20 km from the city of Pattaya. It is open every day for the visitors between 9 am and 5 pm. It also has a small zoo and a hotel with swimming pool. A rental car from Pattaya will be the best way to reach the beautiful Nong Nooch Tropical Botanical Garden.
