Nakhon Ratchasima Zoo Highlights

Located about 20 kilometers out of the city, Nakhon Ratchasima Zoo is spread in about 545 Rai and is home to various animals like lions, elephants, giraffes, tigers, zebras, hedgehogs, ostriches and numerous other animals that are from various regions all over the world. Yet it is interesting to note that the place is known for its ‘Big African Fives’ namely African elephant, African Buffalo, lion, leopard and rhinoceros. Since the place is really big and temperatures in Thailand can be really bad, the place provides with many options which are a real thumps up in case of a hot day; through these visitors can have a look at the animals at their own pace. These options include: a small train or rail car service @ 20 Baht per adult, bikes for rent @ 30 Baht per bike and golf cart can be hired at 300Baht for an hour or 500 Baht for 2 hours.

If one is visiting with a vehicle they will have to pay a parking fee of 50 Baht. The place offers other leisure activities and places that are aimed not only to educate but also to entertain. Some of these activities and tours include a Dinosaur tour spread in a area of 4 Rai, a zoo for children, a plaza, a water park and a seal and penguin exhibition plus the latest and the first of its kind in Korat Day/Night zoo.
