Na Yung-Nam Som National Park is located in Nam Som District of Udon Thani province where three provinces Udon Thani, Loei, and Nong Khai meet. Na Yung – Nam Som National Park was given the status of a national park in December of 1975. Na Yung-Nam Som National Park’s mountainous region is home to various mountain ranges that vary between 200-500 meters in elevation.

Most of the rocks found in this region are made up of sandstone and the highest peak is Phu Ya-u which stands at 588 meters. The National Park is rich in green cover mainly consisting of evergreen and mixed deciduous forests and is also the region’s main source of rivers and streams like Huai Nam Som and Huai Tat Ton.
