Mueang Nakhon Reception House

Posted on: 25th February 2016

Mueang Nakhon Reception House was built during the reign of King Rama IX as a place to receive him whenever His Majesty visited the city. It is situated amidst an old fruit garden and is kept open to public daily except Wednesdays and on occasions when the Royal family is in stay. This task of building a place for King was undertaken by Thongsamak family on the behalf of the city people and hence chose their old orchid land as the place to set up the royal lodgings. After its completion King Rama IX visited the place with the crown princess in attendance for a stay.

The place’ infectious peace and simplicity is what makes it so strikingly appealing. The garden also has shady walkways and the palace’s garden in itself is a walking area dotted with mangos teen trees. It is located about thirty kilometers west of a city and in order to enter the place all that a person has to do is make an entry in a register.
