Hua Hin Fishing Pier – A Fantastic Recreational Spot

Posted on: 26th February 2016

Hua Hin Fishing Pier is one of the most frequented recreational spots in the town. Projecting out into the ocean, this narrow strip of platform is an excellent viewpoint for watching the sunrise and taking in the panoramic views of Hua Hin. Situated at the north end of Naresdamri Road running parallel to the beach, the fishing pier remains the center of the town’s fishing trade. Locals often visit here in the evenings to enjoy a time of recreational fishing. Apart from the sunrise, you also get to see the nice contrast made by the masts and contours of the boats against the orange backdrop of the sky. Renting a car from us, saves time and also facilitates one to explore other recreational spots scattered all over Hua Hin in a more efficient and a hassle free manner.

Highlights of Hua Hin Fishing Pier

Early in the morning, you can see the fishing boats arriving together with a flock of traders descending with their trishaws to collect their orders. You might also get an opportunity to buy fresh seafood – squid, fish, crabs, clams, mussels – directly from these traders. After business hours, these boats return to a small village near the fishing pier. A stroll at the pier in the evenings will give you a more leisurely feeling. Locals, expatriates and tourists walk along the 300 m long pier, some equipped with buckets and fishing poles while others with cameras in their hands ready to shoot photos. Fishing is a favorite pastime at the pier and you can enjoy it too if you bring your own gear.

Around Hua Hin Fishing Pier

Surrounding the Hua Hin Fishing Pier is an extensive lineup of acclaimed seafood restaurants. Walking down the Naresdamri Road, you can find all types of selections ranging from the classic Hua Hin style (painted wooden chairs and tables with a romantic ambiance) and typical Thai style (little decor) to international style (country French, tapas bar, English tavern and more). As the range is pretty wide, it would be better for you to ask around or perhaps do some research before you decide which one to try.
