Located approximately 6 km from Hat Yai downtown at Kanchanawanit Road, the Hat Yai Municipal Park is a famous recreational spot for tourists and local residents. Decorated beautifully with colorful flowers, it spans an area from the hills to the lake. The park is a part of the Kor Hong Mountain and offers stunning views of Hat Yai city from the top. With food stalls, an aviary and a pavilion in the center of the pond, Hat Yai Municipal Park is an ideal place to enjoy an evening with friends and family. Entrance to the park is free, but it’s better if you bring a few extra bucks for buying souvenirs or eating snacks. Attractions at Hat Yai Municipal Park

Among the many attractions at the Hat Yai Municipal Park is the Ice Dome. Located at one end of the park’s foothill, this is where you get to see several city landmarks made of ice along with many other ice sculptures. Apart from the Ice Dome, there is the Four Faced Brahman Shrine housing several miniature elephants as well as an enormous statue of the three faced elephant known as the Erawan. Once you reach the top of the hill, you’ll get to see ‘Phra Buddha Mongkol Maharaj’ or the Standing Buddha. Situated at the southern end of Hat Yai Municipal Park is the White Jade Kuan Yin Shrine. Near the shrine is a large Buddha sculpture which you can get to by moving through the mouth of the golden Dragonhead. You can visit the Standing Buddha and the Brahman Shrine via a cable car which costs around 200 bahts.
