Located just over 15 km from the Krabi Town, Ao Nang Beach is the main beach in the city. Originally, it was a fishing village but now it has become a major tourist resort and one of the most popular tourist attractions in Krabi. Ao Nang beach provides white sandy beaches, clear waters and offers colorful coral reefs and breathtaking scenery created by limestone cliffs and coconut palms. Each year, Ao Nang is visited by huge numbers of foreign travelers. Most of the travelers come here to enjoy its nightlife and then go to Tonsai. It offers a beautiful and fairly long beach although many travelers do not like to swim or sunbathe at this beach. Ao Nang Beach does not have anything special, but it offers cheap accommodation and can be used as a base to visit nearby attractions. Destinations like Railay Beach and Tonsai are located in the east of Ao Nang and Phi Phi Islands can also be discovered from here in one day trip.
