This monument was constructed in honor of a former administrator – Phraya Ratsadanupradit Mahison Phakdi, who later became the governor of Trang province.
The monument is located in Trang Municipal Park and is one kilometer from the Provincial Hall.

All about Phraya Ratsadanupradit Mahison Phakdi

1857 born Phraya Ratsadanupradit Mahison Phakdi was responsible for the widespread planting of rubber in Southern region of Thailand. His introduction of rubber plants in Thailand, was a big success as it later became one of its major crops, immortalized him. He contributed the most in shaping Trang’s infrastructure, agriculture, education and the local administration structure. He died in 1913 and in 1992 was declared as one of the most distinguished government administrators.

Operating time and Admission fee: No admission fee is charged and the monument can be visited 24/7.

If one is interested in knowing more about the former governor, visiting Phraya Ratsadanupradit Mahison Phakdi Museum would prove good for an insightful experience; moreover the museum is just 28 minutes away from Trang Municipal Park. The two storied wood museum was Phraya’s residence and today his entire legacy can be witnessed closely within the walls of this building. In addition to collection of all his personal items, photographs and furniture which convey a history of the past 100 years, the museum also has a real life like wax image of Phraya which is seated on his favorite rocking chair. The place is managed by Phraya’s descendants- the Na Ranong family and though guide services are also available yet one need to book in advance to avail them. The fact that the brochure available at the museum presents a brief history about Phraya is certainly an add-on.
